Once the source of the infection is gone it will no longer be an issue. It is important that your surgeon does a good job of disinfecting your mouth during the extraction procedure as well as removing all the infected bone that may be present in your mouth due to your periodontal disease. Otherwise, this infected bone may present issues with your implants in the future.
